Forex Server Location Selection Guide

Choose a hosting region around the destination your terminal or application actually uses, then validate it with consistent route and application tests.

Find the endpoint before the city

Record the broker server selected in the terminal. Ask for a suitable test address for that connection if the broker provides one. A public broker website can be hosted elsewhere and is not a dependable substitute.

Your local location affects Remote Desktop convenience, but the trading terminal communicates from the server to the broker. Evaluate those two paths separately.

Build a regional shortlist

Regions to compare — availability requires confirmation
Destination contextCandidates to discussWhy compare alternatives
North AmericaNew YorkConfirm the actual endpoint and any cross-region dependencies.
United KingdomLondonCompare against continental routes if the endpoint location is uncertain.
Continental EuropeFrankfurt and AmsterdamRouting can make one path preferable despite similar geographic distance.
Japan / Northeast AsiaTokyoTest the real destination rather than assuming all Asian routes are equivalent.
Southeast AsiaSingaporeCheck whether the broker service is local or reached through another region.

These city labels are a planning shortlist. They do not establish a specific data center, available inventory, broker co-location or a measured delay.

Use a repeatable comparison

  1. Use the same broker-approved destination and testing method across candidates.
  2. Record the actual test host, dates, time zone and relevant trading windows.
  3. Keep typical results, variation, losses and failed attempts rather than only the best sample.
  4. Repeat at relevant times and review terminal connection behavior.
  5. Validate the selected region using the intended demo workload.

When a network test cannot answer the question

Some endpoints do not respond to ICMP ping. A failed ping does not by itself establish a failed trading service. Ask the broker or infrastructure provider for an appropriate test method, and use application connection evidence where available.

Network round-trip time also does not equal execution time. Treat route evidence as one input alongside program behavior, resources and broker-side processing. See the latency testing checklist for a comparison record.

Make the choice operationally usable

Confirm region availability, specification, maintenance arrangements and recovery plan in the quote. A marginally better route should be considered alongside administration, capacity and support needs.

If the broker endpoint changes, recheck the shortlist. Keep the test record so future migrations can be compared with the same destination and method.

Common questions

Do named cities prove a facility or co-location?

No. Confirm the actual placement and available configuration in the proposal. This website does not assert named-facility placement.

Why compare more than one European region?

The destination and network routing can produce different results. Test Frankfurt, Amsterdam or London against the actual endpoint when they are relevant candidates.
