Describe the whole trading workflow
A trading server may mean a single remote terminal or a collection of applications. List where prices enter, where decisions are computed, how orders are submitted and where logs are stored. This exposes dependencies that a simple CPU-and-memory request misses.
- Trader workspace: MT4 or MT5 terminals, charts, EAs and signal tools.
- Application layer: permitted integrations, dashboards and analytical jobs.
- Data layer: logs, configuration backups and any databases.
- Operational layer: remote access, monitoring, maintenance and restoration.
Allocate resources by contention
Applications can compete even when average system usage looks modest. A short CPU burst, a disk-heavy backup or an optimization job may overlap with a terminal process. Observe the busiest relevant period and identify which activities can be scheduled elsewhere.
| Workload | Planning approach |
|---|---|
| Persistent terminals | Keep their workspace and restart procedure predictable. |
| Heavy analysis | Schedule or separate it when it competes with live activity. |
| Integration services | Record credentials, endpoints and restart dependencies. |
| Backups | Store a recoverable copy independently and verify restoration. |
Choose a route and an operating model
Test the proposed region against the actual broker or application endpoint. Record the test time, destination, method and failures. A city name and a single minimum ping are insufficient evidence for a production decision.
Decide who installs applications, checks connection state and responds to failed services. A reachable server is not necessarily a healthy trading application; monitoring should reflect the process and connection you depend on.
Bring a project brief to the quotation
Send the application diagram or list, peak usage samples, preferred locations, required remote access and recovery expectations. Specify whether you need a VPS, dedicated hardware or a comparison of both. Read the setup guide for terminal preparation and infrastructure planning for the broader operating checklist.
