Organise the MT5 workload before choosing a VPS
MT5 hosting can serve a single trading workspace, several account-specific terminals or an application that exchanges data with other systems. List each concurrent job separately. Continuous live trading and CPU-heavy research deserve different resource budgets.
Record the broker server, symbols, charts and Expert Advisors for each instance. If the workload includes intensive historical calculations, place them in a separate environment or an agreed resource window so they do not compete with active terminals.
Run multiple MT5 accounts with clear separation
Use distinct installation directories for simultaneous terminal copies. Maintain an inventory that connects each installation to its Windows user, data folder, broker server and purpose. This makes updates and recovery easier to verify and reduces the risk of operating the wrong account.
| Record | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Installation path | Identifies the executable and avoids starting the same installation twice. |
| Data folder | Locates settings, history, programs and logs for that instance. |
| Broker account server | Confirms the intended destination and the route to test. |
| Program set | Reveals dependencies, licensing and expected load. |
| Restart order | Defines how the workspace returns after maintenance. |
For a larger collection, use the multiple MT5 terminals guide to plan grouping, application ownership and recovery.
Compare CPU, memory and storage under load
A low average CPU reading can hide one busy thread. Memory use can grow with history and running applications; disk demand includes the journals and retained data. Collect repeated observations with the intended combination of accounts and programs active.
- Compare sustained load with peak periods, rather than sizing from an empty desktop.
- Keep a reserve for Windows servicing and application changes.
- Measure data and log growth when choosing storage and retention.
- Review a dedicated environment if workload isolation or recovery design becomes more important than adding another VPS allocation.
The MT5 resource checklist includes a worked planning example. It is a calculation method, not a benchmark or a guarantee for your programs.
Validate the complete MT5 environment
- Install the intended release and confirm compatibility with the selected Windows image.
- Rebuild the account-specific workspace and verify all required programs using demo accounts.
- Observe connection behaviour, resource pressure and error logs across the relevant session.
- Check disconnect, maintenance restart, backups and the expected return to service.
- Record the accepted configuration and the support contact before switching the workload.
Specify whether administration is handled by your team or included in the proposal. For a broker-side MT5 project, use MT5 White Label infrastructure; client-terminal hosting is a separate service scope.
